JWA was founded in 2012 when Debby Garfunkel saw the amazing opportunity the MOMentum outreach program would provide in Melbourne. She envisioned that this program would awaken the Jewish mothers of Melbourne to learn, grow and be inspired to strengthen our connection to each other, our families and to Israel.

The MOMentum trip is just the start of the JWA experience. Women don't just complete their year long journey with JWA, they stay connected with opportunities to engage in learning and meaningful events. JWA fosters lasting relationships and opens the door to deeper connections with the Jewish community.
